When kids today are spending exceedingly long hours in front of the television, computer, or mobile devices, it becomes crucial to promote active and outdoor play. Whether it’s walking in the park, riding a bike, or taking a hike through the woods, there’s no denying the benefits of stepping away from the screen and into the sunshine.
Janelle is a curious and adventurous first-grader. She finds joy in tending her garden, and loves to roller-skate, swing on the monkey bars, and explore the natural world. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
