Toddlers love to try things on their own, and those “I can do it!” moments are more than adorable—they’re essential to healthy development. Simple tasks like choosing a snack, cleaning up toys, or putting on a jacket help children build problem-solving skills, self-control, and a growing sense of responsibility.
In our program, we design our environment so toddlers can successfully explore independence. Low shelves, accessible materials, and consistent routines give them the freedom to make choices while knowing help is always nearby. Caregivers model, guide, and cheer them on, turning small accomplishments into meaningful learning.
With each new skill mastered, toddlers discover something even more valuable: the pride that comes from doing things for themselves.
